Customer-centricity is a term that is thrown around quite a lot these days. We hear our colleagues saying “We need to organise ourselves around our customer”, or “We need to adopt lean start up thinking and while we are at it, let’s be agile about it”! We are called to reorganise ourselves around the customer, whether this customer is the external, paying customer, or the internal customers of corporate services.
This term has an intrinsic meaning. It doesn’t just describe a process or way of doing things. At the core it describes a way of thinking, believing and acting. This is a systemic shift that needs to be deeply rooted into the DNA of the organisation.
We all have a customer! Do we know who they are and what they need or want? How do we give it to them better than our competitors, in ways that delight them?
What do we need to do to ensure that our customers become an advertisement of our products or services, so that they will come back again and again and bring others with them?
How do we create delighted customers who become converts for life? It all begins with customer-centricity.
