Transformation is a process, more or less predictable in broad outline and principle, predictably unpredictable in its details. Organisations are unique, and yet, how they change follow well-known archetypal patterns. How do we create powerful transformation programmes or interventions that can respond to increasingly complex particular contexts, while at the same time lifting the burden of “customisation”, “bespoke development”, and “unique solutions”, which take a long to develop, tend to be expensive (if done well), and are largely unnecessary?
